Hey guys!!
So this post as the title suggest is the reason behind my decision to turn vegetarian. I officially turned vegetarian on the 28th of April 2016, mind you I was exploring this option prior to this date, and the reason(s) behind this was a journey to a healthier lifestyle and I KNOW I KNOW a healthy lifestyle does not necessarily entail or suggest opting out from consuming meat and that brings me to the second reason for this decision.
Around that month, I had the chance to watch a documentary called Food Inc. on animals and the manner which they were being treated and also about the processing of their parts to its final consumers, from this documentary as well as a talk I watched by Gary Yourofsky which was posted and recommended by my friend at uni Manuela (who also has an amazing blog on inspiration and lifestyle i really do recommend you check her out, i'll leave her link below),
I began to have a better understanding and decided it was time to make this change and I’m not going to lie it was difficult.
I started off by giving away everything meat or animal related and replacing them with vegetables, fruits and substitutes for meat from a brand called Quorn, I also invested in a book called "Deliciously Ella Every Day"
which I read and began to follow, this book was truly helpful to me as it gave me information on substitutes, nutrition benefits, and facts, ingredients, the proper way to store food and more.

The first few weeks were challenging I kid you not I even had dreams about eating meat LOL but I was truly enjoying exploring new recipes, I then decided to put fish back into my meals to help me more as I felt the complete drawback of meat and fish was a bit extra and fish is a very healthy source of protein , so occasionally I would put some tuna into my salads or some anchovies on my pizza. I also drafted a workout plan which I'll share in another post soon, since following this strictly I can honestly say I feel a lot healthier. Being aware of the health benefits is another factor that pushed me to stay committed to this lifestyle.
With regards to portions if you know me you know that I eat very little portions but spread out the day and I don’t know if this is good but it helps me to not overfeed myself.
PS, as I am in the early stages of being vegetarian or rather “pescatarian” I will definitely be updating my blog regarding this. I hope this was an informative read and don’t forget to follow the social media links and my photography page on Instagram.
